Our own Chris Rhea went with Builders for Christ to help build a new Family Life Center for First Baptist Church of Monroe in Monroe, Ohio and sent us daily updates on the construction progress. Click on the images to see the full size version.

Day 1

The slab was suppose to be ready when we got here. But it didn't get poured until 4 am this morning. Today was a lot of busy and prep work, but looking good.

One of our ladies, Mrs. Terri, told me her supervisor just joined a church and was helping raise money to send someone on a mission building trip. Matt and Amy Cannon, small world.

I wish I had taken a couple of pictures yesterday. I'll make up for it from here on out. Keep praying for sunshine!

Much more productive today! Beautiful weather, descent temperatures, and nobody hurt. Just exhausted.

Moving right along. Last night we went to the church we did last year and got to see a big change since we were there.

There's lots of excitement here too. This has been in the planning stage for over 20 years. They were talking about past pastors and long time members with this vision and didn't live to see it come to fruition.

Wow! It was a cooker today. High was 91 and I think that was in the shade. Here's today's pics.

Day 5

Rain today. Most everybody went to the Air Force Museum in Dayton. Scotty and Alan Harper rode their bikes home to Ga. In The Rain.

8 of us stayed and worked in the rain and did what we could. Yesterday it was over 90 and at lunch wed. It was below 60, showers, and windy cold. Those of us that didn't think we needed to pack anything with sleeves, went to Wally World and bought rain jackets.

What a trip. God is Great! There's no way something like this could be done, with a mostly "mature" crew, without Him!
